Cruise Diva's CRUISE

~ Istanbul to Genoa ~
Debarkation—Genoa,
Italy
June 18, 2002
With
my belongings gone, my suite no longer looked "mine"—but I
still had the opportunity to order a final room service breakfast and
enjoy one last cup of coffee as Silver Whisper quietly sailed into
Genoa, Italy.
After retrieving my passport, it
wasn't long before my debarkation color was called. My arrangements
included transportation to the Milan airport and, as I made my way to
the gangway, one last surprise awaited. Something I've never seen on
any cruise—stewards were on
hand to accompany us ashore, assist with hand luggage, and to help us
identify our checked bags, which were already in the terminal. Once my
suitcases were stowed beneath the coach, I was on my way.
Lasting Impressions
From the arrival of my travel documents to the final dessert, the
memories of my Silver Whisper cruise will last a lifetime. A cruise is
certainly an easy way to travel, but Silversea makes it both simple
and elegant. And they do it in such an effortless manner that little
things could go unnoticed. No request seemed to be too difficult for
them to comply. In fact, the word "no" doesn't appear to be
in their vocabulary. Small touches add to the exquisite sense of
personalization. I truly felt like a pampered guest in a private manor
home.
The
sleek Italian décor of Silver Whisper and her fleet mates is subtle
and understated. Refined and professional service is delivered by the
international staff. The Silver Suites exceed the accommodations of
top-rated hotels. Those elements, combined with superb dining, lively
entertainment, spacious interiors, and the complete absence of lines,
add up to a six-star, ultra-luxury experience.
Don't allow sticker shock to
overwhelm you when considering a Silversea cruise. Fares are expensive—however,
considering all that is included on board,
plus airfare, transfers, and pre-cruise accommodations,
they are a great value. It's no wonder that 43% of my fellow
passengers on Silver Whisper's "Adriatic Interlude" were
repeat guests. On some sailings, as many as 70% of passengers are
repeaters... I hope to join them soon.
