Crystal Cruises wishes to offer its sincere condolences to all persons that have been affected by these acts of terrorism on the East Coast of the United States. As always, the safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance to us. While we have no reason to believe that our ships are at risk, we are taking every precaution to protect our guests, crew and ship. A maximum level of security is in effect. We are closely monitoring all aspects of our operation impacted by the recent events, including but not limited to air transportation.

Guests on the September 18 cruise headed north for New England/Canada will embark in Baltimore in lieu of New York. The ship is now scheduled to depart Baltimore at midnight. ORIENT LINES TO OPERATE AS PLANNED

Needless to say, we at Orient Lines are all deeply saddened by the recent events which have tragically unfolded in New York, Washington and Pittsburgh and extend our deepest sympathies to those affected by these acts of terrorism. As a result, Orient Lines has elevated security on board our ships to their highest levels.

Throughout this ordeal, passengers aboard Marco Polo and Crown Odyssey are monitoring the news in the U.S. via CNN. Orient Lines provided free on board telephone and e-mail service so that American and Canadian passengers can keep in touch with family members and friends.

Passengers who were originally scheduled to depart the United States this week for European CruiseTours have been offered a choice of either a new sailing in October or future cruise credit. We will continue to review our itineraries in the coming weeks, as warranted, to ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers.

The safety of our passengers has always been our highest priority. It is not the policy of Orient Lines to discuss security practices taken on board our ships, however, in view of the incidents in the U.S., the following steps were taken and will continue to be followed as part of the company's overall security effort:

  • Guest visitors are not permitted on board.
  • Passengers are required to carry proper photo identification to board our ships.
  • Carry-on luggage/bags are hand-searched.
  • Luggage, packages and provisions brought on board are checked.
  • Security personnel are stationed at all points of entry to our ships.
  • While in port, our ships are reviewed by Zodiac craft in the harbor.
These are truly somber times but it is extremely important for all of us to not let the actions of terrorists completely disrupt the American way of life, our economic system, or our personal freedom of choice.

And, as air travel resumes around the nation, Orient Lines will be working closely with its passengers, air partners and ground operators to resume our CruiseTours as planned. Existing company policies, terms and conditions will apply to CruiseTour passengers departing the U.S on or after September 17, 2001.

P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises & Swan Hellenic are continuing to monitor the situation in the United States of America

9/14/01 - All P&O Cruises' and Princess Cruises' passengers currently on land tours and stays around New York and Washington are safely accounted for. The crews of Aurora, and the Princess Cruises' ships in the area, are also safely accounted for.

P&O Cruises' Aurora is presently in Boston. Her next scheduled cruise was due to depart from New York on Saturday. However, due to the closure of the New York Port and uncertainty about its' re-opening, Aurora will now depart from Boston. The scheduled time of departure is midnight on Saturday. Flights from the UK to New York today and tomorrow are extremely unlikely to operate and passengers due to fly to New York today and tomorrow to join Aurora cruise AU117 will be given full refund. This cruise will nevertheless go ahead as planned. P&O Cruises' customers already out in New York, having either sailed over on Aurora or having been on one of P&O Cruises' land tours and stays, will be offered the option to cruise back to Southampton on Aurora's cruise AU117 according to availability.

Flights booked for Princess Cruises' passengers to the United States from the UK this weekend are extremely unlikely to operate and these passengers will be given a full refund. Flights booked for Princess Cruises' passengers travelling to Vancouver from the UK this weekend are likely to go ahead and passengers have been advised to arrive at the airport earlier than usual.

P&O Cruises has provided a telephone number for people concerned about friends and family on P&O Cruises or Princess Cruises holidays in the areas, travel agents with P&O Cruises' or Princess Cruises' passengers due to travel to the affected areas today or over the weekend, and P&O Cruises and Princess Cruises customers themselves due to travel to the affected areas today or over the weekend. The number is 020 7800 2255.

Swan Hellenic's Clipper Adventurer cruise omitted its call to New York but is now continuing with its original itinerary. Any queries regarding this cruise should be directed to 0207 800 2200.

Princess Cruises is working with the airlines to minimise disruption to passengers due to travel on other Princess Cruises fly-cruises around the world. The company will be informing passengers if any changes to their flight arrangements become necessary as soon as these are known.

The safety of passengers and crew is the prime concern of P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises and Swan Hellenic. Security on all ships is being operated at the highest level.

Renaissance Cruises Official Statement - 9/14/01

Renaissance Cruises recognizes that we have all been affected by the terrible events that recently took place. The Company has temporarily altered its standard cancellation policies to be sensitive to the needs and  concerns of traveling guests.

Due to air service disruptions, guests currently onboard Renaissance ships, R6 and Renaissance VIII, have been allowed to use the ship as a hotel until travel arrangements to the United States can be confirmed. Air travel arrangements for guests presently onboard the vessels will be coordinated by Renaissance Cruises regardless of whether air packages were purchased through the Company or not.

In an added effort to increase valuable lines of communication,  Renaissance Cruises has established a link on it's web site, www.RenaissanceCruises.com, that allows people to send messages to loved ones aboard any of the Company's 10 ships. A pop-up box at the site instructs visitors to "click here" and by typing a passenger name and sailing date, their message will be forwarded to friends and family at sea.

NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE VOYAGES WILL SAIL AS PLANNED

Miami - September 13, 2001 - Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) today announced all NCL voyages are scheduled to sail as planned with the exception of Norwegian Sea, which was repositioned to Boston for Sunday, September 16, 2001.

NCL will have an action team on hand throughout the weekend to assist NCL's Air/Sea passengers with questions and where possible, to help with alternative arrangements as needed.

Passengers who made independent arrangements to join their NCL cruise should contact the person who made the travel arrangements for the departing cruise, i.e. travel agent or airline, for updated information on flight service and schedules.

As it currently stands, NCL anticipates there will be air service to all major port cities. If a passenger wishes to cancel a cruise from a port city serviced by an airline, normal cancellation policies will apply.

If the passenger cannot get to the ship because of airline service disruptions, it is imperative that the passenger contact NCL directly prior to the departure of the ship so that NCL can assist in making alternative travel arrangements. If NCL is unable to arrange passenger travel, a claim will be reported and reviewed.

Future cruise certificates will only be awarded if air service to the port city is unavailable and NCL has been unable to make alternative arrangements.

NCL has set up a special number for more information at (800) 625-5672 from 8 a.m. - 10:30 p.m., eastern standard time, through the weekend.

NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE ALTERS NORWEGIAN SEA ITINERARY

Miami - September 13, 2001 - As a result of the tragic events this week and the U.S. Coast Guard's closing of the Port of New York, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) today announced two Norwegian Sea itinerary changes for this week.

On Sunday, September 16, Norwegian Sea will arrive in the Port of Boston instead of New York for disembarkation. The ship will arrive in Boston at 5 p.m. NCL will provide passengers with transportation from the Port of Boston to a number of drop off points in the New York City area, where they will be able to continue with their previously arranged travel plans. If passengers miss flights due to the schedule change, NCL will work to re-book the outbound flights from Boston the following day and will keep the passengers overnight onboard the ship.

In addition, passengers scheduled to sail Norwegian Sea on Sunday, September 16 from New York City will now embark in Boston on Monday, September 17. NCL will make arrangements to either re-route or transport all passengers from a number of pick-up points in New York City to join Norwegian Sea on Sunday and/or Monday. Because of the embarkation change, the ship will not leave Boston until Monday, September 17.

NCL has sent notification of this change to travel agents and is working closely with travel agents and airlines to minimize disruption and inconvenience for passengers.

Agents and passengers affected by this itinerary change can contact NCL for more information by calling (800) 625-5672.

This is the only cruise affected at this time. The ship, with 1,477 guests on board, currently is enroute southbound from Ketchikan and scheduled to arrive on time in Vancouver, where it will remain in port instead of sailing on its next seven-day Alaska Inside Passage cruise Thursday evening.

Guests who remain on board will be responsible for their individual expenses, including telephone, beverages, shop purchases, etc. The company is sending a Passenger Programs team to Vancouver to assist guests with travel plans.

RADISSON SEVEN SEAS STAYS THE COURSE & OPERATES AS SCHEDULED

We at Radisson Seven Seas Cruises join the rest of the world in extending our deepest sympathy to those affected by the acts of terrorism in New York, Washington DC and outside of Pittsburgh.

While we grieve with the rest of the nation, we also believe it is important that we "stay the course" and not let the terrorists and their actions prevail by destroying your clients vacation plans, our business and the American way of life. Consequently, we are operating our cruise programs as scheduled but with the highest levels of security in place and activated.

The safety and security of guests has always been the highest priority. While there is no indication that cruise ships have been selected as a target, in light of recent events and in conjunction with our security consulting firm--International Maritime Security Co. (MIS) of London, England--we have moved to a maximum level of security aboard all of our vessels. These measures include but are not limited to the following:

- No Guest Visitors will be permitted aboard any of our vessels. Only visitors
authorized in advance through our Operations Department will be permitted on board.
- Identification of every person embarking a Radisson Seven Seas ship will be carefully checked. Proper photo identification is required in all instances to board the ship.
- All hand-carried items of both crew and passengers are hand-searched in every port.
- All luggage is being scanned.
- All packages and provisions brought onboard are scanned with hand-held detection equipment.
- Security personnel are stationed at all points of entry to the ship.

In addition, every ship has professionally trained on-board security officers as well as many other measures in place to ensure the safety of all of our guests.

While we understand the immediate reaction of some guests may be to cancel their cruise plans, we feel it is necessary to maintain our normal cancellation policy. As long as the air carriers are operating and we can fly guests to our vessels, no refunds will be offered for close-in bookings and all normal policies remain in effect.

As always, we thank you for your continued support during these difficult
times and we urge you to "stay the course" with us.

Orient Lines' OCEAN VOYAGER Sets Planned Itineraries

Orient Lines will introduce a new dimension in worldwide destination cruising with the addition of Ocean Voyager to its fleet in May 2002. The only cruise line sailing to and providing big-ship amenities and destination experiences on all seven continents, Orient Lines will christen the 36,000-ton vessel in Istanbul, Turkey.

She will be deployed on a series of 25-to 68-day CruiseTour itineraries under the company’s “Grand Voyages’’ umbrella, dramatically increasing the line’s ability to offer its target audiences - baby boomers and active seniors - amenity-driven/soft adventure worldwide destination experiences.

And, for the first time, Orient Lines will offer a world cruise. The 132-day voyage to exotic ports commences from Fort Lauderdale January 9, 2003.

“The population in the U.S. is graying dramatically,’’ said Mitchell J. Schlesinger, Orient Lines’ senior vice president, sales, marketing and passenger services. “And, since the more experienced traveler wants a deeper and richer destination experience, we not only created ideal inclusive worldwide CruiseTour itineraries, we also sought a ship that would most effectively deliver the product,’’

Presently sailing in Asia as SuperStar Aries for Star Cruises, Orient Lines’ parent, the ship will undergo extensive renovations before transitioning to Orient Lines in April 2002. Ocean Voyager is scheduled to begin its 25-day inaugural voyage on May 20 2002, from Istanbul to Southampton, England.

LINE HAS CARVED A DESTINATION INTENSIVE CRUISETOUR NICHE
Since 1993, the line has pioneered the combination of new destination itineraries - where mass-market vessels rarely venture - with the cruise industry’s only worldwide inclusive CruiseTour program, featuring pre and/or post hotel stays, sightseeing tours, transfers, baggage handling and the services of a hospitality desk staff.

The addition of Ocean Voyager is in keeping with Orient Lines’ philosophy of developing new and different CruiseTour itineraries first, before identifying the most suitable ship to deliver the program.

“Our dedication to being a destination focused company has accelerated our recent growth,’’ said Schlesinger. “Ocean Voyager was built for long distance cruising and will give us even more opportunities to develop new destination intensive programs.’’

The launch will mark the second time in two years that Orient Lines will expand its fleet. The elegant 1,026-passenger Crown Odyssey joined the company’s 826-passenger flagship, Marco Polo, in May 2000. Boomers and active seniors have since flocked to the mid-sized fleet, enjoying moderate pricing, on-board amenities and gracious service while traveling to intimate European and exotic ports of call.

DESIGNED FOR EXPERIENCED DESTINATION TRAVELERS
Once deployed, days at sea and multiple days in fascinating ports around the world will be made all the more enjoyable because Ocean Voyager offers amongst the highest space ratios (60:1) and lowest crew-to-passenger ratios (1:1.5) in the cruise industry.

Passengers will have a myriad of dining opportunities, including single open seating in the Seven Seas Restaurant – complete with piano bar – and al fresco fare at outdoor Monte Carlo Buffet/Grill. Reservations and a nominal $10 per person fee allow passengers the opportunity to dine at two a la carte specialty restaurants: Raffles for Asian cuisine and Picasso’s for Mediterranean fare.

Expansive, double occupancy staterooms – 83 per cent outside – measure over 230 square feet and feature ample closet space, a significant plus on longer voyages. All accommodations offer rich wood cabinetry, mini-bars, TV/VCR’s and picture windows. Passengers can choose from 20 suites - to 685 square feet - 16 of which feature verandahs.

Three swimming pools – two outdoor including one with a retractable dome - a putting green, boutiques and the services of world-renowned Mandara Spa, featuring special therapies for mature clients including yoga, t’ai chi and thalassotherapy, have all been planned specifically for boomers and active seniors in mind. There’s even a self-service laundry.

Additionally, in light of the fact Ocean Voyager has 32 single cabins, gentleman hosts are available on all sailings so that unescorted women can easily join in the activities. The company is also renowned for its in-depth guest lecture enrichment program featuring insights into the political, social, cultural and environmental aspects of the destinations visited. On longer itineraries, two guest lecturers per cruise will be on board.

“We’ve designed our itineraries with a mature, destination-oriented passenger in mind, and our on-board programs and amenities have been designed exclusively for our target audience,’’ said Schlesinger. “Each aspect of the ship and itineraries have been designed with a destination passenger in mind.’’

ITINERARIES LONGER IN LENGTH . . . DEEPER IN DEPTH
Ocean Voyager will be deployed on global itineraries, year-round, and will feature an array of two-day stays in fascinating destinations, including Cairns, Bali, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Yangon (Burma), Mumbai (Bombay), Dubai, Safaga, Aqaba, Piraeus, Sorrento, Barcelona and many others.

Itineraries include:
32-day Grand Scandinavia Voyage
35-day Path of the Vikings
53-day Grand Mediterranean Voyage
68-day Grand Africa Voyage
132-day Grand World Voyage

And, while shorter segments are available, special pricing featuring 2-for-1 and 50 per cent off second passenger - with air as low as free from select gateways – is designed specifically for the longer Grand Voyages.

First-ever calls at North American ports, St. John’s, Montreal, Quebec, Sydney, Halifax, Bar Harbor, Boston, Newport, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Portsmouth are scheduled for summer/fall 2002.

ORIENT LINES RECEIVES TOP HONORS
The company’s creative CruiseTour offerings have prompted numerous accolades. It was recently named one of the “Top 10’’ Cruise Lines in the World by readers of Condé Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure magazines. The company has also earned “Best of the Best” honors from the Unofficial Guide to Cruises, “Best Cultural Cruising Experience’’ from Porthole Magazine and “Best Cruise Value” by the World Ocean & Cruise Liner Society for six consecutive years.

Orient Lines’ strong financial performance prompted NCL Holding ASA, parent of Norwegian Cruise Line, to purchase the company in July 1998. In February 2000, Star Cruises of Malaysia purchased the NCL group. Orient Lines’ U.S. headquarters is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, while its operations center is based in London. A global network of sales agents sells Orient Lines to local markets.
